Cold calling is an essential sales skill. It does not matter what side of the business you are on—you have to master the cold call to be successful.
The first technique we want to discuss is the 5 C’s:
Think of a time in your life when you have had each of these. You know a time in your life when you have been completely courageous. You know a time in your life when you have been totally committed to getting the answer or the result you wanted. You know a time in your life when you were so convinced that your enthusiasm came through. You know a time in your life when you made a genuine connection with somebody. Finally, you know of a time when you were 100% clear on what you wanted to say.
The 5 C’s translate directly into cold calling success, so keep them in mind at all times. If you’re missing one of these, it can be detrimental to the success of your calls, so it’s important to always bring your “A” game and channel all 5 C’s whenever you’re trying to reach your call objectives.
